About me
Jennifer has been with Legal Aid of East Tennessee since October 2023. Jennifer Egelston is a mother, a US Army military police veteran, and a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law. Jennifer is passionate about helping families resolve their conflicts. Jennifer has volunteered much of her time in the LGBTQIA+ and military veteran communities, as well as providing representation to survivors of domestic violence in family law matters. Prior to coming to Legal Aid, Jennifer represented many domestic relations and name change clients pro bono. In 2022, she was named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by Legal Aid of East Tennessee. She has volunteered with the Access to Justice Committee, serving on the Veteran’s subcommittee and has volunteered at the Veteran’s Legal Assistance Clinic consistently since law school. Jennifer is also the Membership Chair of the East Tennessee Law Association for Women. Jennifer is an adjunct professor and regular guest lecturer at the University of Tennessee Winston College of Law where she has taught Family Law and lectures in the Mediation Clinic. Jennifer is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association Family and Juvenile section, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the East Tennessee Law Association for Women, the American Bar Association, and the Hamilton Burnett American Inns of Court in Knoxville. Jennifer has been a volunteer coach and referee for local AYSO regions for over a decade. Jennifer is also an active member of the American Legion and the VFW.
