Why It’s Called the Practice of Law: Lessons from Practice is a practical, conversation driven program designed to help law students and early career attorneys navigate the transition from law school to realworld legal practice. Drawing on candid experiences from practicing attorneys, the program explores the differences between academic legal training and daytoday practice, emphasizing that learning the law is only the beginning. Participants gain practical insight into working with judges, opposing counsel, and clients; drafting pleadings; handling mistakes; and reframing wins and losses as tools for professional growth. The program highlights professionalism, judgment, and resilience as core skills developed through experience rather than coursework.
